Job Title: Financial Reporting & Technical Accounting Manager
Location: Remote
Pay : $50.00/hour - $55.00/hour
What’s the Job?
The Manager of Financial Reporting & Technical Accounting is responsible for evaluating and documenting technical accounting analyses, maintaining accounting policies and narrative, and performing certain monthly close activities. This includes the accounting, reconciliation, and reporting of business combinations and stock compensation in accordance with US GAAP. This position will be responsible for researching and evaluating complex accounting matters.
Essential Functions and Job Duties:
- Research and document technical accounting issues and provide memos on those subjects as needed, including debt, derivatives, equity and stock compensation
- Evaluate and support the implementation of new accounting standards and other applicable financial reporting guidance
- Support the general ledger team with technical questions on items such as leases, inventory, and revenue/AR
- Review acquisition agreements and prepare purchase accounting workpapers; support third party valuations as needed (ASC 805, 409A, 718, 350)
- Oversee the accounting for complex and technical items. This includes: preparing equity and stock compensation workpapers; reviewing debt and derivative journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations; reviewing the statement of cash flows
- Close responsibilities include (but are not limited to) journal entries, account analysis, and ad hoc analysis for acquisitions and equity
- Review the financial statements and footnote tables
- Plans and implements the annual 401K audit
- Maintain and document accounting policies and procedures.
- Administrative responsibilities related to stock-based compensation (SBC).
- 5-7 years related experience in accounting or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Preference for experience with public companies, IPO, and/or PE-backed companies
- Preference for experience with business combinations, leases, and implementation of new accounting standards
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) in Accounting, Finance, or related field. MBA or MAcc, preferred .
- CPA, required
- Public accounting or public company experience, required
