We have an opening for either a Principal Software Engineer or Senior Principal Software Engineer to join our talented NGP SATSIM team in Redondo Beach, CA.

Basic Qualification:

  • Principal S/W Engineer: 5 Years of relevant experience with Bachelors; 3 Years of relevant experience with Masters; 1 Year of relevant experience with PhD; an additional 4 years of experience may be considered in lieu of degree
  • Sr Principal S/W Engineer: 8 Years of relevant experience with Bachelors in Science; 6 Years of relevant experience with Masters; 4 Years of relevant experience with PhD; an additional 4 years of experience may be considered in lieu of degree
  • Active Secret Clearance required at the time of application
  • Experience with the full SW lifecycle with emphasis upon software design, development, as well as verification and validation
  • Experience working with existing software applications
  • Experience with developing C/C++ application on Linux
  • Experience Shell Scripting, and Angular, Python., JavaScript and Java programming
  • Experience working in a Linux operating system
  • Familiarity with the Atlassian Tool Suite (Confluence, Jira, Bitbucket, Bamboo)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • JavaScript, Angular, and Java programming experience
  • Familiarity with hardware simulation, 1553 protocol, IPC (inter process communication), binary data processing, messing protocols (JMS, GMSEC, XMPP)
  • Red Hat Linux operating system experience
  • Experience developing or working with satellite simulation software
  • Scrum Master experience
  • Google Test Experience
  • Thrive on colleague interactions and collaborations
Salary Range: $110,300 - $165,500
Salary Range 2: $137,400 - $206,000
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
