Conduct qualitative and quantitative chemical analysis on raw materials, solutions, and components following approved Standard Operating Procedures and test methods in an accurate and timely manner. Ability to work under minimum supervision while meeting deadlines. Analyze organic or inorganic compounds to determine chemical or physical properties using chromatography, spectroscopy, or spectrophotometry techniques. Maintain laboratory instruments to ensure proper working order and troubleshoot malfunctions when needed. Prepare test solutions, compounds, standards or reagents for laboratory personnel to conduct tests. Follow laboratory safety procedures to ensure compliance with standards or to make improvements as needed. Monitor operational procedures in technical environments to ensure conformance to standards. Purchase laboratory supplies, such as chemicals. Operate lab equipment such as pipets, burets, balances, hot plates, etc. Review samples received, logs samples, and enter data into computer database (LIMS). Responsible for general housekeeping of laboratory and test suites. Sustain a clean and safe work environment utilizing 6S principles. Perform routine laboratory and safety audits. Serve as mentor to Quality Laboratory Associate (QLA) I positions. Provide training and work direction for QLA I positions as required. Use sophisticated laboratory instrumentation and computer systems to collect and record data. Perform advanced chemical assays requiring precise analytical skills and understanding of chemistry principles. Complete all testing, including special project / protocol testing in a timely and appropriate manner. Maintain data integrity and ensure compliance with company SOPs and specifications, FDA, GLP, QSR and cGMP regulations. Investigate deviations and write exception documents. Work under minimum supervision.
