Registered Nurse (RN) - Behavioral Health - Nights -7p - 7a

$20,000 Sign-on Bonus Eligible

Position Summary: 

  • Provides direct patient care to patients using the nursing process in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice. 

  • Performs plan of care intervention, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, as well as other medical care treatment. 

  • Performs initial physiological needs assessment on patients upon admission and performs shift psychosocial needs assessment during each shift. 

  • Documents patient care given. 

  • Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate to care team, physician, patient, and family. 

  • Assists patients with performing activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation. 

  • Collaborates as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral and spiritual/psychosocial support needs. 

  • Evaluates learning needs of patient and/or family and provides patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances. 

  • Prepares, administers, assesses and documents the effectiveness of medication administration. 

  • Evaluates patient response to all procedures and interventions carried out both on a physical and psychological basis. 

  • Assesses patient’s psychological response to hospitalization and diagnosis each shift. 

  • Works as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.

Minimum Qualifications:

·         Current licensure as a Registered Nurse from the Virginia State Board of Nursing or a Compact State.

·         Previous experience in acute care hospital setting preferred.

·         AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
