R&D Process Engineer Technician (2nd Shift)

As an R&D Process Engineer Technician, you operate equipment to develop and test plastic containers & related tooling, while also making necessary adjustments and/or minor mechanical repairs to the machines and auxiliary equipment in a safe and efficient manner. Our Package Development Center in Medina leads product development of containers for top consumer brands. In this role, you will contribute to Plastipak’s high quality standards and positive team culture.

  • Consistent Schedule: 2nd Shift works Monday – Thursday from 2:30 – 11pm and Friday from 12 – 8pm

You Will

  • Monitor and operate blow molding or injection molding machinery and related equipment.
  • Assure customer requirements are met by performing quality checks for specifications, such as bottle weights & dimensions.
  • Identify corrective actions to eliminate defects through the product development process.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on machines and auxiliary equipment as assigned.
  • Join with your team to identify continuous improvement opportunities focused on safety, reliability, quality & scrap reduction.

You Have

  • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent; Associates Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology preferred
  • Mechanical, electrical or other technical/machine operation experience
  • Working knowledge of extrusion or blow molding equipment is preferred
  • Ability to work 2nd shift schedule
