Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems sector is currently hiring a Manager 2 Flight Sciences (Propulsion) to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This hands-on leadership role is located in Melbourne, FL. As a Section Manager, you will manage the functional engineering activities of approximately fifteen engineers who are responsible for meeting aircraft propulsion integration, performance, analysis and test program needs. This position reports to the Flight Sciences Department Manager within the Vehicle Engineering functional homeroom team. Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to: Product integrity, process adherence, staffing, training, and tools. Process oversight, participation in the performance review process, management of personnel records and participation in corrective or disciplinary actions. Staffing responsibilities such as hiring, recruiting of personnel and working to ensure that engineers with the appropriate skills and experience are deployed. Managing training opportunities and budget allocations, as well as participation in tool, process, and metric initiatives is required. Team engagement is a key focus as is mentoring and providing career guidance and coaching.
