Northrop Grumman’s Aeronautics Systems sector is seeking a Sr. Principal Subsystem Architect to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals in defining the future. This position will be located in Melbourne, FL. The selected engineer will perform as a member of an interdisciplinary team on a key effort to develop novel and innovative solutions to advanced technical problems. The successful engineer will contribute to System Architecture/Concept Development, Candidate Technology Trade Studies, Requirements Development and Derivation, Algorithm Development, Performance Analysis, Data Analysis, and work with cross-disciplinary teams. The Subsystem Architect in this role will be responsible for one or more of the following: Support development and integration of mission subsystems and components to meet platform mission objectives Requirements development, analysis, maturation and implementation translating customer requirements into hardware and software specifications Perform MBSE and capturing requirements, interfaces, behaviors, structures and parametrics Development and implementation of new and existing high fidelity, physics-based performance models, threat models, and command & control models. Modeling/Developing / analyzing AESA capability performance, predicting performance as installed on airborne platform. Develops software to model behavior of systems in real-time and constructive simulations of platform communications capabilities. Solicit input from various stakeholders, synthesize data, and communicate results to various levels of leadership within the organization. Perform mission engineering activities to ensure continuity between desired operational capabilities and delivered system performance, through the Systems Engineering “V”. Ensure performance capabilities of new systems and architectures are traded against cost and mission requirements and assess operational effectiveness of existing and emerging systems and capabilities in representative operational environments.
