Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems sector is seeking a Sr. Principal Responsible/Analysis Engineer – Fire Protection Systems with experience in aircraft fire protection subsystems development to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals in defining the future. This position will be located in Melbourne, FL. This position is fully onsite with no remote work available. Key responsibilities may include: Performing responsible engineer activities, which include all aspects of fire protection system/component design and development including trade studies, layouts, architecture definition, system test & verification, and troubleshooting. These activities may also include participating on a subcontractor management team and will act as the technical point of contact with suppliers for hardware development, qualification, and procurement. Performing system related analysis, such as performance simulation, in support of the development of the fire protection subsystem including integration with other aircraft subsystems. System level test planning, execution support, verification, data processing, and troubleshooting. System level evaluations to verify requirements and ensure airworthiness criteria are met. Attending internal program, customer, and/or supplier technical exchange meetings and/or formal program milestone reviews to provide and/or obtain progress status updates.
