Schedule: Monday - Friday 11am-7:30pm

Job Responsibilities: 

 

35% - Conducting daily, weekly, bi-monthly, and monthly cleaning and maintenance schedules for Parata and S4 dispensers.  Creating and following cleaning/maintenance schedule to ensure the dispenser is performing at an acceptable & efficient level.  Also, managing and tracking maintenance supply needs; cell orders, wet cleaning supplies, Parata cell supplies, etc.      

30% - Diagnosing and resolving problematic cells that occur throughout the day that are being reported by a team member or a pharmacist.  Problematic cells can be a variety of reasons; overcounting dispense issues, undercounting dispense issues, cell issue that is causing damaged product, etc.  The Automation Technician will need to reference, run, and use system reports (i.e. Exceptions Report) to identify cells that need to be evaluated for improvement and track improvement success. 

15% - Drug moves are a crucial job role that occurs weekly, and at times daily.  Drug moves consist of gathering drug move data from Inventory Lead and/or Supervisor.  Drug moves can either be new adds into the Central Fill, or removals.  The Pharmacy Automation Technician will be required to apply basic math skills to calculate pill weight and cubing volume, and critical thinking skills to calibrate automated dispense cells/canisters. 

10% - Cell efficiency and accuracy should be reviewed often; a minimum of once per week.  The Pharmacy Automation Technician will work with Operations Lead and/or Supervisor to gather efficiency report. The Automation Technician will work with Inventory Lead to gather accuracyreport. 

5% - Wet Parata cell cleaning will need to be conducted routinely to maintainin good-standing on clean and ready to use Parata cells for new product adds.  Central Fill formulary is dependent on our customer’s needs and requests.  New adds are time sensitive and require ready to use cells at all times. 

5% - Volume Audits (ROP, Capacity, etc) are reviewed quarterly by the Pharmacy Automation Technician.  This task requires working with the Inventory Lead to gather the NDCs that are being reviewed.  This task has a direct correlation on effecting consumable costs and LPH. 

 
Minimum Job Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities): 
Education/Training –  

  • High School Degree or equivalent experience. 

  • TN Pharmacy Technician license required. 

  • PTCB certification preferred. 

Business Experience –  

  •     One-year Central Fill pharmacy experience. 

     
Specialized Knowledge/Skills –  

  •     Knowledge of federal and state HIPAA laws 

  •     Skills using Parata, S4 cells/dispensers preferred. 

Working Conditions: 

Environment (Office, warehouse, etc.) – 

  • Large scale pharmacy/warehouse production environment 

  • Exposure to pill/machine debris or dust on frequent basis. 

  • Occasional handling of environmentally hazardous medications 

Physical Requirements (Lifting, standing, etc.) – 

  • Lifting and carrying < 15lbs, 2-3 hours per day 

  • Standing and walking continuously through shift, eight hours per day 

  • Stooping, kneeling, or crouching < 2hours per day 

  • Climbing stairs < 1 hours per day 

  • Keyboard use 2 hours per day 

  • Visual acuity reading, transcribing, and viewing computer screens, eight hours per day
