Description

Job Summary

Responsible for planning, implementing, and evaluating cross-functional strategic projects, including health system affiliations. Oversees all phases of projects, from initiation to completion, adhering to budget, timeline, and other key milestones. Leads project teams, manages communications, and ensures compliance with regulatory and organizational requirements. Supports alignment and integration of health system external affiliations with organizational objectives and strategic priorities. Ensures the success of health system collaborations, operational efficiencies, patient care services, and sustainable business models. 

Job Specific Duties

  • Leads complex, cross-functional projects focused on business growth and development in pediatric healthcare, ensuring alignment with the health system’s mission and strategic objectives.  
  • Oversees the planning, execution, and delivery of health system affiliation projects. Collaborates to define the project scope, objectives, success metrics and deliverables, for effective integration of clinical, operational, and administrative functions. 
  • Develops and manages comprehensive project plans, including timelines, sets clear milestones, and manages resources to ensure the timely and successful completion of project tasks and deliverables. Revises project plans as necessary to address changing needs. 
  • Maintains clear, consistent communication with key stakeholders and strong working relationships. Resolves conflicts, ensure team alignment and accountability. Assists in developing and executing communication plans. 
  • Identifies and monitors potential risks or barriers, develops mitigation strategies, and minimizes impact on timelines and outcomes. Makes recommendations to leaders on implementing mitigation strategies to address and resolve issues quickly and effectively.  
  • Assists in the assessment and measurement of project goals and external affiliation impact, tracks key performance indicators (KPIs), and provides data driven insights. Collects, analyzes, and interprets data to inform project decisions.  
  • Conducts market research through designated state data analysis tools, financial analysis, and other business intelligence tools to support data-driven recommendations.  
  • Monitors and reports on project deliverables, key milestones, timeline, and potential impacts throughout the project lifecycle. Provides project status and annual impact reports for senior leadership, ensuring adherence to quality standards and best practices.  
  • Facilitates meetings, presentations, brainstorming sessions, and ongoing messaging with key stakeholders to support understanding of project goals, deliverables, and timelines.  
  • Identifies opportunities to streamline processes, workflows, and improve operational efficiencies within the department and across affiliates systems. Collaborates with teams to implement process improvements, drive continuous improvement, and support integration with affiliates.  

Qualifications

Minimum Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Strategic Management, or a related field 
  • 3-5 years of project management, business development, or strategic planning, in a healthcare setting

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Master’s degree in a relevant field is preferred.
  • Familiarity with health system integration and strategic affiliations is preferred.
  • Solid understanding of hospital and clinical service line operations, infrastructure, and foundational alignment with clinical excellence, research, and academics is preferred.
  • Experience managing cross-functional teams and collaborating with external stakeholders to drive success of strategic affiliations.
  • Strong project management skills, including the ability to develop detailed plans, manage timelines, and multiple priorities.
  • Excellent communication and people skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Excellent analytical skills and experience working with data to evaluate performance, track progress, and make informed decisions.
  • Ability to think strategically while also managing the day-to-day details of integration projects.
  • Ability to problem solve and provide conflict resolution.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills with ability to tailor communication to multiple levels within the organization.
  • High level of Business Acumen.
  • Understanding of the overall healthcare delivery model and program offerings both internally and within the marketplace.
  • Knowledge of healthcare financial drivers and state and federal regulatory guidelines relevant to hospital operations.
  • Ability to apply guidelines to relevant projects, strategic initiatives, etc.
  • Ability to manage multiple complex, high dollar projects, and prioritize and plan time effectively ensuring deadlines are met.
  • Ability to create and execute project work plans that meet budget requirements and deliver desired business outcomes.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Ability to work independently and flexibly with minimal supervision.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Visio) and project management tools (e.g., Microsoft Project Professional).
  • Lean / Six Sigma training skills.
