Under the direction of the Quality Lead, the incumbent will provide support to operational areas to improve processes as well as ownership of customer product lines to ensure compliance with applicable standards and requirements.  Howmet Aerospace – Savannah Operations manufactures critical rotating components for jet engines made from advanced alloys and operational process to include forging, heat treatment, and machining.

  • - Responsible for ensuring compliance with regulatory, customer and Company quality system specifications and requirements. 
  • - Update procedures to align with industry and customer requirements. 
  • - Conduct GAP analysis on specifications and drawings.
  • - Conduct contract review on customer purchase orders to identify quality requirements. 
  • - Read and interpret blueprints and specifications to include ballooning drawings for dimensional inspection plan creation and customer traceability marking requirements. 
  • - Conduct annual internal and supplier quality audits and systems surveys.
  • - Assist in training and certification of personnel. 
  • - Support and follow the quality system to prevent any nonconforming product from leaving the facility and reaching the
  • customer.
  • - Review customer complaints, analyze returns and make recommendations for corrective action.
  • - Determine root causes of deviations and implement effective corrective and preventive actions in order to minimize future disruption to manufacturing.
  • - Continually strive to improve: testing methods, tooling, and equipment through statistical sampling, that will ensure
  • adequate quality in our manufactured product.
  • - Work with Engineering to develop simple and efficient methods of testing new product lines.
  • - Provide support as deemed necessary by management to allow the Quality Department to function efficiently.
  • - Remain flexible with daily activities in order to handle emergency issues as they arrive.
  • - Comply with all EHS rules and regulations and supervisory instructions.
  • - Communicate regularly with internal employees and customers.
  • - Perform various department and/or company projects, including planning, organizing, data collection, and presentation of results. Required:

- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution.

- Minimum of 5 years of experience working in Quality or Process/Product Engineering role within a manufacturing

environment.

- Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

Preferred:

- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, or Materials Science from an accredited institution.

- 10+ years relevant work experience.

- Experience in Aerospace manufacturing.

- Strong working knowledge and experience working with Quality systems and specifications.

- AS9100/AS13100/AMS2750 specification experience is desired.

- Experience in blueprint/drawing interpretation, GD&T, First Article Inspection.

- Lean Six-Sigma training/certification desired.
