Shift Lead Responsibilities:
- Operate Fuso tea bagging machines
- Operate required machinery at company (Vertek, Robot, Augar, Swifty 1200)
- Perform quality control of the material produced
- Interpret work orders and implement the instructions found therein
- Meet or exceed daily production goals as set by the Shift Supervisor and Schedule Supervisor
- Identify and trouble shoot mechanical problems with the machine
- Follow all prescribed preventative maintenance protocols
- Complete required paperwork and checklists
- Minimize errors & waste
- Work with Shift Supervisors, Production Manager and Demand Planners and follow their work instructions
- Work with the Quality Assurance inspectors to ensure that quality guidelines are being met and that quality control and food safety steps are being taken
- Work with the Maintenance Department to share information about machine performance to ensure that maintenance guidelines are being met and that preventive maintenance steps are being taken
- Assist with training and supervision of Machine Technician trainees
- Lead a small Assembly crew as required
Requirements for Shift Lead:
- Experience as a Machine Operator or Technician
- Previous lead or supervisory experience
- Experience in a food manufacturing environment
- Desire to lead a team and perform to high standards
- Experience working with Microsoft Office
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
- Experience in a SQF certified facility preferred
- Experience working in a certified organic facility preferred
- Experience working 10 – 12 hours shifts preferred
- Mechanically inclined
- Good communication skills
- Good math skills
