This position is full-time (40 hours/week) Monday – Friday. Employees are required to have flexibility to work 7:30am – 4:00pm, Monday – Friday CST. It may be necessary, given the business need, to work occasional overtime. Our office is located at 2925 Chicago Avenue Minneapolis, MN 55407.

We offer 4 weeks of training. The hours during training will be 8:00am – 4:30pm, Monday – Friday.

If you are located in MN or WI, you will have the flexibility to work remotely* as you take on some tough challenges. 

           

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Reviews electronic chart documentation ensuring correct patient, location, and no duplicate information.
  • Processes release of information (ROI) requests.
  • Manages requests for documentation and information.
  • Scans and edits documents in the electronic medical record.
  • Locates, logs, retrieves, files, and delivers medical records stored in various mediums and systems.
  • May train and mentor co-workers.
  • Analyzes documentation and tracks completion to meet regulatory requirements.
  • Promotes principles of health information accuracy, transparency, currency, accessibility, relevancy, and reliability.
  • Work with Microsoft Word, Excel (create, edit, save documents and spreadsheets) and Outlook (email and calendar management)
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma / GED OR equivalent experience
  • Must be 18 years of age OR older
  • 1+ years of Customer Service experience within a hospital or healthcare environment
  • Experience with Microsoft Office products
  • Ability to travel to 2925 Chicago Avenue Minneapolis, MN 55407 for first 2 weeks of training
  • Ability to work 7:30am – 4:00pm CST, Monday – Friday

         

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of customer service experience
  • Ability to travel between local healthcare facilities
  • Experience working within the health care Industry and with health care insurance
  • Experience working in a hospital, physician's office or medical clinic setting
  • Experience working in a call center
  • Previous experience communicating with patients & staff with various educational & socio-economic backgrounds
  • Clerical or administrative support background
  • RHIT or RHIA certification
  • Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
  • Knowledge of federal and state programs that will benefit coverage for clients

               

Telecommuting Requirements:

  • Reside within commutable distance from 2925 Chicago Avenue Minneapolis, MN 55407
  • Ability to keep all company sensitive documents secure (if applicable)
  • Required to have a dedicated work area established that is separated from other living areas and provides information privacy
  • Must live in a location that can receive a UnitedHealth Group approved high-speed internet connection or leverage an existing high-speed internet service

The hourly range for this role is $22 per hour based on full-time employment. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
