About the job:
The Clinical Nursing Supervisor supports the Manager, Nursing Staff, and Health Team by coordinating patient care and communicating patient information. They provide nursing care using the nursing process (assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation) and are accountable for clinical, educational, administrative, and research functions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Clinical: Support RNs in patient advocacy, care planning, and clinical decision-making. Act as a resource for staff and collaborate with the care team. Assist with referrals and care adjustments as needed. Ensure adherence to nursing standards and participate in quality assurance.
- Educational: Support staff and patient education. Identify learning needs and provide training to improve clinical competence. Engage in continuous professional development.
- Administrative: Lead nursing care delivery to maintain quality standards. Assist in staff scheduling, resource allocation, and problem-solving. Support unit operations and participate in setting annual objectives. Provide staff performance input and help maintain a safe work environment.
- Research: Stay current with nursing research and protocols. Identify and support the implementation of relevant research studies.
Requirements:
Education: Graduate of an approved school of nursing. Bachelor of Nursing Degree preferred.
Licensure: RN Indiana License. BLS certification.
Experience: 3-5 years previous experience in clinical leadership role preferred.
