Laborer -Roustabout

Overview

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Primary Duties:

  • Performs general facility maintenance duties under the direct supervision of the on-stie supervisor.
  • Organizes tools and materials needed for tasks.
  • Cleans and organizes work areas.
  • Changes pipe spools and valves
  • Mates flanges to oilfield production and processing related piping and bolts them together.
  • Assists other skilled craft employees including mechanics, electricians, welders and field production operators in their tasks associated with facility maintenance.
  • Assists with crane rigging, where applicable
  • Performs general cleaning and upkeep duties by sweeping, mopping and painting as necessary.
  • Performs fire watch duties and assists welders with fittings.
  • Assists mechanics and electricians in miscellaneous pump, engine and motor maintenance.
  • Conducts purging and flushing tasks within oilfield production and processing environments.
  • Performs rigging and equipment moving operations in constricted spaces using hand signals or other means to communicate with equipment operators.
  • Performs emergency response duties.
  • Performs work in strict compliance with permitting requirements, ASH Standards and other compliance-oriented directives. Has STOP Work Authority
  • Performs BBS observations.
  • This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

  • Have the ability to read and interpret safety manuals and warning signs, drawings, specifications, rigging diagrams and lifting capacity charts for equipment and load carrying parts. Must display sufficient oral communication skills to be able to give and receive oral safety warnings, instructions and task assignments.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Possess some skill in basic carpentry, plumbing, concrete and other pertinent construction or maintenance type skills.
  • Manual dexterity is required to safely operate hand and power tools and assemble and disassemble componentry. These tools are inclusive of, but not limited to hammer wrenches, pneumatic impact wrenches, and hydraulic and pneumatic torque wrenches.
  • Capability to walk down Energy Isolation Procedures without supervision or error.
  • Knowledge of production operations
  • Knowledge of basic well site flow through

Education and Certifications:

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Some positions may require minimal heavy equipment (966 loader, etc.) experience.
  • Some positions may require hazardous materials endorsement.
  • Arctic experience preferred.
  • Some positions may require a valid drivers license.

Physical Demands:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. A pre-hire post offer Functional Capacity Evaluation (FCE) will be conducted to determine an employees ability to perform to the job standard.   • MOBILITY: Must be able to access all areas of a construction site and climb scaffolding and ladders. Must be able to push/pull 50 lbs for 20 feet
  • HEARING: Must be able to hear audible safety alarms. Baseline and annual audiometric evaluation is required.
  • VISUAL ACUITY: Must be able to perform above listed tasks in a safe manner.
  • LIFTING: Must be able to routinely lift 70 lbs from floor to waist, 50 lbs from waist to shoulder height. Must be able to carry 70 lbs for 20 feet.
  • RESPIRATION: Initial and recurring fit testing for protective breathing apparatus is required
