Summary

The Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) assumes responsibility for direct nursing care of assigned patients under the supervision of a registered nurse or physician in the patient care area.

The LVN utilizes knowledge of patient’s age and cultural diversity into the provision of patient care. The LVN contributes to the provision of quality nursing care through techniques that support and achieve positive outcomes in patient care.

Qualifications

Education:

Required: High school diploma or equivalent and completion of an accredited LPN/LVN program.

Certifications:

Required: Currently licensed, certified, or registered to practice profession as required by law, regulation in state of practice or policy; CPR.
