Packaging Co-Ops

Work Locations:  Neenah, WI

Timing: January - July 2025 or July-December 2025

Packaging Co-Ops will typically work as part of a team under the direction of a Packaging Manager.  Packaging Interns assist in meeting cost, quality, productivity, customer service and safety objectives with regard to packaging materials and designs.  Packaging co-ops also assist packaging personnel in project activities and in the development of systems/procedures to enhance the overall performance of the department. Responsibilities include package/material development, project assignments and cost optimization, with guidance from and interaction with senior packaging personnel and customers.

Requirements & responsibilities for Packaging co-ops include, but are not limited to:

  • Development and re-engineering of primary and secondary package structures

  • Utilization of packaging related software (TOPS, CAPE, etc) to complete packaging development work

  • Knowledge of packaging materials and their relation to absorption & reflectance

  • Ability to interpret and write packaging & material specifications

  • Read, execute & write laboratory Standard Test Procedures and record associated data

  • Possess mechanical skills for laboratory test equipment construction

  • Accept guidance & direction from senior Packaging Engineers

  • Job may require occasional travel to K-C operating locations

  • Students who have completed 2 years toward a BS/BA in Packaging, Materials Science, Engineering or a related discipline are eligible to apply. 

Packaging Internships are approximately six month assignments.

Qualifications:

  • GPA: 3.0 cumulative or higher

  • Completion of 1-1/2 years of college courses

  • Applicants must be presently authorized to work in the U.S. on a regular, full-time basis

  • Co-op/intern positions are not eligible for sponsorship and the successful candidate must be eligible for employment in the United States without KC’s sponsorship now or in the future

  • Previous Co-op/Intern experience is a plus
