JOB OVERVIEW Job Title: Hospitalist Internal Medicine Job Type: Locum Tenens Location: Lafayette, Louisianna Service Setting: Inpatient Hospital Medicine Coverage Type: Clinical Only Coverage Period: June 2025 Ongoing CLINICAL SHIFT SCHEDULE Physicians (MD/DO): 7 AM 7 PM: 11 rounders/admitters 7 PM 7 AM: 1 Nocturnist NP/PA: 7 AM 7 PM: 2 rounders/admitters/cross-cover call 7 PM 7 AM: 1 NP/PA cross-cover call/admitter PATIENT INFORMATION Annual Volume: 73,000 Patients Per Day: 215 EMS Admissions: 35% Admission Rate: 32% FACILITY INFORMATION Trauma Level: Level II ED Beds & Fast Track Beds: 35 ICU Status: Closed ICU Specialty Backup: Full specialty backup available EMR System: Ochsner EPIC PRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE Hospital Privileges Required: Yes State License Requirement: Active state license required Immunization
Requirements: Flu and other immunizations required Privileging Timeframe: 60 90 days (expedited privileges available for clean files) COMPENSATION & BENEFITS Hourly Rate: TBD Travel, Lodging, and Malpractice Insurance: Covered REQUIRED PROCEDURES General hospitalist duties including admissions, rounding, and cross-coverage JOB REQUIREMENTS Board Certification: MD/DO: BC/BE in Internal Medicine (IM) with 2 years of hospitalist experience Other Certifications: ACLS & BLSÂ DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Provide inpatient hospitalist coverage, including admissions, rounding, and cross-coverage Work in collaboration with NP/PAs and specialty backup teams Utilize Ochsner EPIC EMR system for documentation Participate in orientation and EMR training upon onboarding
