About The Position

Barton Associates is seeking an experienced Psychiatrist for a 65-day locum tenens position at a hospital in New York. Starting on 06/02/2025, this assignment offers a full-time schedule of Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM. The ideal candidate will specialize in adult inpatient psychiatry, working in a unit alongside three other physicians. This role involves providing comprehensive psychiatric care, including evaluations, treatment planning, and medication management for adult patients in an inpatient setting. The position utilizes the Sunrise Clinical Manager EMR system and offers the potential for extension beyond the initial 65-day period.

Job Responsibilities and Duties:

• Provide psychiatric evaluations and treatment for adult inpatients
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans
• Prescribe and manage psychotropic medications
• Conduct daily rounds and monitor patient progress
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams for comprehensive patient care
• Participate in treatment team meetings and care conferences
• Provide crisis intervention and management as needed
• Maintain accurate and detailed medical records using Sunrise Clinical Manager EMR
• Ensure compliance with hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and patient safety protocols
• Provide consultation to other healthcare providers as needed
• Stay current with best practices and evidence-based treatments in psychiatry
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members
• Manage admissions, transfers, and discharges as appropriate

Additional Information:

• New York medical license required
• Board certification in Psychiatry required
• Experience in inpatient adult psychiatry essential
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
• Comfortable working in an inpatient unit
• Potential for assignment extension
