This position is for permanent position within Retail Banking and Transformation team.

We are looking for a highly organized and proactive Business Program Manager who is able to run multiple projects at the same time and specializes in using Jira to streamline processes, manage complex workflows, and ensure the successful delivery of projects.

As a Project Manager with Jira expertise, you will be reporting to the Project Director of one of the top 5 projects in Santander US. You will be responsible for planning, execution, and delivery of multiple projects, ensuring all stakeholders remain aligned and deadlines are met. A key part of your role will be building and updating multiple executive reporting using Jira to manage epics, user stories, and KPIs reporting. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, driving them in the Ways of Working from initiation through completion.



Essential Functions/Responsibility Statements:

Project Management:

Project Planning and Execution:

  • Update delivery project plans that outline scope, timelines, resources, and budget. Ensure deliverables are executed on time within scope.
  • Track project/sprints performance and provide regular status reports to stakeholders and senior management.
  • Manages process and project management deliverables for all assigned projects from initiation thru closure, including intake activities.
  • Develops presentations, dashboards, reports and other team and executive level project communications and documentation
  • Provide support to the project teams by organizing workshops, agendas and meeting invites
  • Facilitates Project Team meetings and situational analysis regularly to ensure appropriate communication to all stakeholders
  • Use Jira to organize, track, and communicate project progress
  • Monitors and documents project milestones and outcomes throughout the project lifecycle to ensure adherence to established quality standards
  • Significantly improves existing project management processes, discipline and controls

Strategic Planning and Alignment:

  • Support project director and senior leadership in developing and implementing strategic plans.
  • Leads and contributes to the development of project definition and scope with applicable stakeholders
  • Develops and implements contingency and recovery plans when deliverables are missed (i.e. identify critical path, document, plan for Return to Green, business continuity plan, etc.)
  • Tracks and reports accurate project plans and budgets in line with appropriate governance
  • Ensure organizational initiatives are aligned with the Santander overall vision and objectives.

Risk Management:

  • Develops, communicates, and implements project risk mitigation plans and completes risk actions, issues and decisions documentation to effectively monitor risk and enable accountability and responsibility
  • Identify potential project blockers/risks early and develop mitigation strategies to minimize impact.
  • Documents and communicates project changes, project health and project status project team, business owner an executive sponsor

Jira Management:

  • Build, manage, and prioritize Jira epics and user stories based on project requirements
  • Create, refine, and update Jira workflows to align with the needs of the development teams
  • Set up and manage dashboards, filters, and custom reports for real-time project tracking

Education: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience - Required

Requirements: 

  • 7+ years’ experience managing multi-year projects with cross-enterprise interdependencies with a combination of business and technical basic knowledge.
  • 7+ years’ experience building project planning documents and engaging the support and resources of others to achieve project goals and objectives; influencing without authority
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience
  • Proven experience as a Project Manager in an Agile/Scrum environment
  • Advanced expertise in Jira, including building and managing epics, user stories, workflows, and generating custom reports
  • Strong understanding of Agile methodologies and best practices
  • Exceptional organizational, leadership, and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret complex data
  • Experience with MS Office (mainly Excel and PowerPoint)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills 
  • Strong critical thinking skills 
  • Strong presentation skills 
  • Adaptability to work in a fast-paced market environment
