Position:  Door Attendant                                      Status: Non-Exempt
Position Summary: The primary responsibility of the Door Attendant is serving the first-floor lobby entrance to the community.
Accountabilities: The Door Attendant is to contribute to the safety of the building and its residents and to provide basic assistance to residents and visitors upon entering the building.
Minimum Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent required
- Experience and passion in working with seniors
- Ability to maintain positive working relationships with residents, their families, peers and other staff members

- Oral and written comprehension and expression - Must be able to convey and understand information and ideas in English
- Must be effective in handling problems in the workplace, including anticipating, preventing, identifying, and solving problems as necessary
- Must work well in stressful, high pressure situations
- Must maintain composure and objectivity under pressure
- Must have the ability to assimilate complex information, data, etc. from multiple sources and consider, adjust, or modify to meet the constraints of the particular situation
- Must be effective at listening to, understanding, and clarifying the concerns and issues raised by residents and guests
- Ability to stand for long hours and walk long distances without fatigue
- Ability to bend, stretch, stoop and reach repeatedly without difficulty
- Exerting up to 60 pounds of force regularly, and to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects
- Ability to work under variable temperatures and noise levels
- Be free of communicable diseases.
- Utilize technology as a means of communication necessary to support resident needs and ensure operational compliance as well as resident safety and security
Typical Work Duties & Functions
- Provide outstanding customer service to all residents, family members, responsible persons, and visitors of residents in the community
- Stationed in the lobby area at all times so as to observe the entry of all persons into the building; if leaving the lobby area is necessary, secure coverage from another associate; the lobby shall never be left unattended
- Ensure that all residents are checked in and out of the building per Inspīr policy
- Assist Concierge in ensuring that all visitors to the community are registered and screened according to Inspīr policy
- Support concierge with accepting and sorting resident mail and packages
- Direct residents and visitors to their desired location
- Have a working knowledge of building security system(s) and protocols
- Be attentive to the safety of residents and report all concerns per Inspīr policy
- Report building problems/emergencies to the Concierge Services Manager
- Control public gathering at entryways and lobby area
- Assist residents, their families or visitors, in getting into and out of vehicles
- Stand, walk, climb, and bend most of the day. Occasionally lift, push, pull, and carry medium to heavy weights
- Understands the Inspīr safety practices and procedures
- Support the transportation coordinator in securing parking for Inspīr vehicles
- Participate in on-going in service and training requirements
- Follow emergency procedures
- Carry out other duties as assigned

- Subject to exposure to infectious waste, diseases, conditions, etc. including COVID-19, HIV, AIDS and Hepatitis B & C viruses
- Under variable temperature conditions
- Under variable noise levels
- Outdoors/Indoors
- Around chemicals, fumes and or odor hazards
- Around dust and or mite hazards
- Property operates 7 days a week, 24 hours a day
- Required to work weekends and holidays as scheduled
- Required to work extended hours and to report to work during times of need including inclement weather and when building concerns arise
- Could be subject to hostile and emotionally upset residents due to mental infirmities
- Criminal background check required
