Inspīr Senior Living, Maplewood Senior Living’s new brand of world-class, urban senior living properties, is now hiring Housekeepers for its new Inspīr Carnegie Hill property. Inspīr Carnegie Hill is located on the Upper East Side and stands 23 stories with 215 residential units. It will offer assisted living, enhanced care and memory care with a unique and innovative Integrated Care Model. Hiring for Full-time Overnight position for Housekeeper.

The Housekeeper Role:  The Housekeeper is responsible for completing housekeeping tasks throughout the community and maintaining a clean and safe environment for the residents, families, staff and visitors. The Housekeeper completes tasks as assigned including cleaning resident apartments, common areas, laundering residents’ personal laundry as well as bed linens and towels.  

  • Provide outstanding customer service to all residents, family members, responsible persons, and visitors of residents in the community 
  • Completes room assignments
  • Ensure all bathrooms are cleaned completely, including toilet bowl, sinks, bathtubs/showers; countertops, mirrors and sterilize floor
  • Ensure clean Kitchen areas, including counters, under counters, mop kitchen floor
  • Ensure all surfaces are dusted while at the same time caring for residents’ belongings
  • Assist with housekeeping tasks as needed including vacuuming all exposed areas and washing inside of windows when necessary
  • Clean all common areas, including but not limited to:  halls, landings, stairs, activity areas, show kitchens, lobbies, elevators, offices and model apartments
  • Clean vacant apartments as assigned
  • Ensure cleanliness of public restrooms
  • Maintain housekeeping and laundry carts at all times
  • Wash and dry all laundry, including resident’s personal laundry using appropriate products
  • Follow emergency procedures when necessary
  • Understand the practices surrounding proper handling of biohazardous waste
  • Maintain a clean laundry room and store chemicals in accordance with proper procedures
  • Deliver linens to floors and residences as directed
  • Assist in garbage removal and snow removal as directed
  • Carry out other duties as assigned

Education/Experience/Licensure/Requirements: 

  • High School diploma or equivalent required 
  • Experience and passion in working with seniors 
  • Able to convey and understand information and ideas in English
  • Must be effective in handling problems in the workplace, including anticipating, preventing, identifying, and solving problems as necessary 
  • Must be able to maintain composure and objectivity
  • Must be effective at listening to, understanding, and clarifying the concerns and issues raised by residents and guests  
  • Able to maintain positive working relationships with residents, their families, peers and other staff members. 
  • Must be authorized to legally work in the United States.  Criminal background check required.
