The Investment Specialist Lead is a strategic professional who closely follows latest trends in own field and adapts them for application within own job and the business. Typically a small number of people within the business that provide the same level of expertise. Excellent communication skills required in order to negotiate internally, often at a senior level. Developed communication and diplomacy skills are required in order to guide, influence and convince others, in particular colleagues in other areas and occasional external customers. Accountable for significant direct business results or authoritative advice regarding the operations of the business. Necessitates a degree of responsibility over technical strategy. Responsible for handling staff management issues, including resource management and allocation of work within the team/project. Responsibilities: The Managed Investment Specialist team is responsible for supporting investment products through separately managed accounts and portfolio construction; these include Citi Investment Management (CIM) model and custom strategies, CIM Equity and Fixed Income Single Strategies, and Third Party Asset Manager single strategies. Educate Bankers, Investment Counselors and other members of the sales team to increase knowledge and proficiency in CIM Traditionals offering. Act as internal product expert and develop sales programs aligned with regional team and client needs and objectives. Help develop and manage pipeline for new business opportunities. Support the CIM and third party partners with after sales process. Responsible for reaching revenue and Net New Investment Asset targets in the managed solutions portion of our business while ensuring broad participation across all of Citi Wealth’s client segments. Understand and discuss current and historical market conditions across the globe. Communicate complex technical details in a manner that is easily understood and consistent with the level of sophistication of the client or sales team member. Influence a wide range of CPB personnel by applying expertise in product specialty. Help Private Bankers and Investment Counselors to evaluate client profiles in terms of return expectation, risk appetite, time horizon, liquidity needs, etc. and recommend solutions that satisfy the client needs. Present in internal meetings and conference calls on Investment product features and benefits and help launch new CIM product offerings. Attend client meetings with internal partners such as financial advisors, bankers and investment counselors, and participate in presentations and sales pitches as needed. As part of the broader investment specialist, act as a liaison between portfolio managers, wholesalers, and other investment specialist teams to ensure communication aligned with Citi’s client needs. Identify product gaps or opportunities to the broader CIM organization including Product and Investment Manager Research teams. Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.
