About The Position

We are seeking a skilled Gastroenterologist for a 140-day locum tenens position at a hospital in New York. The assignment begins on 06/02/2025, with a schedule of Monday to Friday from 8 AM to 4 PM. The physician will be responsible for managing an outpatient GI clinic, performing upper/lower endoscopies, and treating conditions such as colon polyps, ulcers, celiac disease, IBS, IBD, and abnormal bleeding. The role involves both follow-up and new patient appointments. Optional call coverage is preferred but not required. The position also offers the possibility of assignment extension while using Epic EMR.

Job Responsibilities and Duties: 

• Manage outpatient GI clinic 

• Perform upper and lower endoscopies 

• Diagnose and treat various gastrointestinal conditions 

• Handle cases involving colon polyps, ulcers, celiac disease, IBS, IBD, and abnormal bleeding 

• Conduct follow-up and new patient appointments 

• Utilize Epic EMR system for documentation 

• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals as needed 

• Maintain accurate and detailed patient records 

• Adhere to hospital protocols and safety standards 

• Stay updated on the latest advancements in gastroenterology

• New York state medical license required
