About The Position
Barton Associates is seeking an experienced Family Practice Nurse Practitioner for a 120-day locum tenens position at a hospital in rural New York. Starting on 06/09/2025, this assignment offers a full-time schedule of Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with four days of patient care and one full day dedicated to administrative tasks. The ideal candidate will be comfortable providing primary care services including physicals, follow-ups, routine visits, and managing conditions such as colds, flu, diabetes, and hypertension. Minimal procedures may be required. This role utilizes the Epic EMR system and offers the potential for extension beyond the initial 120-day period.

Job Responsibilities and Duties:
- Provide primary care services in a rural clinic setting
- Conduct physicals and follow-up appointments
- Manage routine visits, including 3-month and 6-month follow-ups
- Treat common conditions such as colds, cough, flu, diabetes, and hypertension
- Perform minimal procedures as needed (e.g., occasional skin tag removal)
- Maintain accurate and detailed medical records using Epic EMR system
- Utilize one full day per week for administrative tasks, including in-basket management and charting
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care
- Adhere to hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and patient safety protocols
- Provide patient education on preventive care and chronic disease management
- Stay current with best practices in family practice medicine
- Adapt to the needs of a rural healthcare setting
Additional Information:
- New York nurse practitioner license required
- Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) certification required
- Experience in primary care or family practice essential
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
