The Howmet Aerospace Summer Internship Program, in our Howmet Engineered Structures (HES) business unit, will include engaging and impactful project or projects, lunch & learns presented by organizational leaders, tours of our manufacturing plants & processes, networking opportunities and social activities to connect with fellow interns. Interns will work 40 hours a week and paid competitively. The internship is approximately 12 weeks.Â
The primary function of the Business Process Analyst Intern will be to provide first level support of SAP and/or reporting technologies such as PowerBI, as well as other applications within the HSS Business Unit. The candidate may grow their IT expertise in the technologies that provide the computing environment to the BU. The candidate may interact with Application end users but will primarily work as part of the IT support groups to continuously improve the Application functionality within the various Howmet Engineered Structures locations. The position requires a base knowledge of programming fundamentals as acquired through an Information Technology or comparable curriculum and a desire to learn other applications and IT technologies.
Major Activities/Key Challenges
- Monitor Ticket System to ensure customer issues are resolved in a timely fashion.
- Interact with customers to obtain details for issues and requests.
- Provide support for SAP and other Purchased and Custom Applications
- Works with interdepartmental groups to communicate user requirements and resolve user issues.
- Maintain user level documentation and training materials for follow up support of the key business processesÂ
- Creates functional and technical specifications for change requests as necessary.
- Works with other team members to acquire cross functional knowledge transfer and provide backup capabilities.
- Provide business process support as the IT solution dictates
- Basic IT technical support which could include development and/or configuration activities
- Working toward a bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Management, or related subject.
- Practical experience as gained through information technology or computer coursework.
- Sophomore, Junior or Senior standing
- 3.0 GPSÂ
- Enthusiastic interest in learning and effectively applying new technologies for problem solving.
- Must possess effective verbal and written communication skills.
- A basic understanding of programming standards is a plus.
- Demonstrated knowledge of programming languages is a plus.
