We are seeking a motivated and experienced Engineering Manager to join our Howmet team in Niles, Ohio. The role entails various key responsibilities, including:
- Lead a team of engineers in an aerospace material, manufacturing-based organization in the fulfillment of titanium mill products.
- Lead problem solving efforts to reduce rework and product non-conformances
- Identify and lead opportunities to increase product yield from melt through finish products
- Provide commercial support for material master creation and new order confirmation/review
- New customer specification review and approval
- Support the production release of new ingot and product applications
- Provide disposition for non-conforming productsÂ
- Provide shop floor technical supportÂ
- Provide technical support to all outside OSP vendors
- Support the development of business cases for capital investments
- Complete new equipment and process qualifications
- Perform and maintain PFMEAs, control and reactions plan
- Lead the efforts in developing more robust manufacturing processes.
- Identify and support measurement systems improvements and process automationÂ
- Assist with professional development of the engineering staff
Education/Candidate Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, Materials Science, or chemistry is required.
- 2+ years in a technical leadership role. Experience in a metals industry is preferred.
- 2+ years in forge shop related experience is preferred
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team atmosphere. Ability to manage multiple and complex tasks simultaneously.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, ability to interact effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Possess good problem-solving skills for supporting all aspects of the engineering infrastructure.
- Intermediate to Advanced skill level in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access.Â

Preferred Qualifications:
- Intermediate to Advanced skill level in Minitab is a plus.
- SAP experience a plus.
- Lean Manufacturing Certification
- Six Sigma Certification – Green Belt or Higher
