Why Banquets?
Banquet Associates are the bread and butter of our meeting and event operation. The primary purpose of the Banquet Server/Setup is to provide our guests with an excellent banquet experience. With the opportunity to witness and work with all the exciting groups we host in our convention center; no day is the same in our banquets department. If you love spontaneity, this is the department for you!
Work Performed:
The Banquet Associate is tasked with the following duties, responsibilities, and assignments:
- Set up/Break down banquet meeting and conference space per Banquet Event Order instructions, including: tables, table complements (salt, pepper, sugar, breadsticks, etc.), table linens, table settings, center pieces, dishes, audio-visual equipment, and all other event provisions;
- Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation and organization of banquet spaces before, during, and after events;
- Maintain communication with the guest contact person, Banquet Captains, and the Banquet Manager for guest needs and provide excellent guest service to all clients;
- Serve all food and beverages to guests per company standards;
- Observe Cleveland County Health Department guidelines for food handling and sanitation;
- Observe Cleveland County and Oklahoma State guidelines for service of alcoholic beverages;
- Manage audio-visual equipment during events;
- Follow all company safety and security policies and procedures, including reporting accidents, injuries and unsafe work conditions to management or Human Resources;
- Any and all other work as required to complete the primary purpose of this position.
Qualifications:
- Required Licenses/ Certification: Cleveland County Food Handler Certification, Oklahoma ABLE Liquor License, TIPs/RServing/ServSafe Alcohol or equivalent alcohol server certification acquired upon hire during onboarding.
- Preferred Education: High School diploma or equivalent
- Physical: Ability to lift, pull and push up to 50 pounds regularly, Ability to bend and squat repeatedly, Ability to walk and stand for duration of scheduled shift
- Availability: Flexible to working days, early mornings, evenings, nights, weekends and holidays.
