Our Advanced Test & Support Solutions (ATSS) group is seeking a Principal Engineering Design Checker to join our team of qualified and diverse individuals in Oklahoma City, OK and Tinker Air Force Base.  You will become part of a Northrop Grumman team of professionals who are actively developing Custom Testing Solutions and Specialized Support Equipment for the B-2 Stealth Bomber and LGM-35A Sentinel Missile platforms.

Responsibilities:

  • Examines engineering drawings and related documents for:

    • Soundness, efficiency, and simplicity in design

    • Completeness, clarity, and dimensional accuracy

    • Correctness of materials and processes

    • Conformity to design/drafting standards, design specifications, and practicability

    • Economy of fabrication, assembly, and installation

  • Administration and management of Engineering Drawing database(s)

  • Investigate Engineering Design Center (EDC) systems and applications issues; determine appropriate course of action to provide, improve or restore systems’ functionality; recommend procurement of EDC hardware and/or software solutions when necessary

  • Analyze, install, and test software applications for both new and existing EDC systems.

  • Coordination with engineering manager(s) to ensure product technical data packages meet project schedule commitments

  • Coordinate between several internal and external stakeholder groups (Engineers, Designers, Technicians, CM, QA, System Test, Computer / IT Operations, etc.) to achieve contractual commitments

Basic Qualifications:

  • Must have a Bachelor's degree with 5 years of related experience; OR a Master’s degree with 3 years of related experience; OR a PhD with 0 years of related experience

  • Ability to listen effectively, take direction, and possess initiative to accomplish assigned tasks and complete work in a timely fashion

  • Ability to read engineering drawings and specifications

  • Familiar with ASME Y14 engineering drawing standards

  • Familiar with MIL-STD-31000 technical data packages

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen with ability to obtain a DoD SECRET security clearance & special program access

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Active DoD SECRET or higher security clearance with investigation in the last five (5) years

  • Active Program clearance

  • Familiar with IPC Standards

  • Experience in Drafting, Design, and/or analyzing Technical Documents

  • Experience in Configuration Management or Quality Assurance

  • Experience in 3D CAD Modeling

  • Experience in Manufacturing, Build, or Assembly of mechanical or electrical systems

  • Experience in Aerospace or Defense industry

  • Experience with any of the following CAD Software Tools and Data Management Products: CATIA, SolidWorks Mechanical/PDM, Siemens NX/Capital, SEE Electrical Expert, Microsoft Visio, National Instruments LabView, SmarTeam, Team Center

Salary Range: $72,600 - $108,800
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
