Overview As a Software Engineer working for the Ground Satellite Communication Systems, you will play a pivotal role in performing software development activities for our programs. Responsibilities include: Designs, develops, documents, tests and debugs applications software and systems that contain logical and mathematical solutions. Conducts multidisciplinary research and collaborates with equipment designers and/or hardware engineers in the planning, design, development, and utilization of electronic data processing systems for product and commercial software. Determines computer user needs; analyzes system capabilities to resolve problems on program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques and controls; prepares operating instructions. designs and develops compilers and assemblers, utility programs, and operating systems. Ensures software standards are met. Basic Qualifications: Bachelor of Science degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math (STEM) discipline and 12 years of related experience, or a Master of Science degree in a STEM discipline and 10 years of related experience, OR 8 years of experience in lieu of degree. Software development experience in C, C++, C# and/or Java in Linux and/or Windows environment Active DoD Secret security clearance investigated within the last 5 years. Preferred Qualifications: Engineering background in Software including deriving hardware and software requirements and designing, developing and testing systems Satellite Communications engineering experience. Experience with all stages of the Software Development Life Cycle Excellent verbal and written communication skills Demonstrated aptitude for analytical problem decomposition, root cause analysis, solution development, solution implementation, metric development, and metric evaluation Excellent interpersonal and team collaboration skills Experience working in an Agile framework.
