Plant 84 is located in Owatonna, MN.

Position Overview:

The Plant Accountant is responsible for overseeing all accounting functions including month-end processes, preparing financial reports, reconciliations, payroll, sales commissions, and accounts payable.

Duties And Responsibilities:

Reporting directly to the Plant Manager, the Plant Accountant responsibilities would include, but not be limited to, the following:  

• Compiles and analyzes financial information to prepare journal entries to accounts documenting business transactions
• Prepares GL Account and Bank Reconciliation
• Prepares financial statements and other reports to summarize the company’s financial position including but not limited to;
  • Month end reporting
  • 8th day reporting
  • Gainshare analysis
  • Site Communication meeting information
  • Maintains Accounting Policy database
  • Identifies control gaps, develops and implements appropriate control procedures to resolve control deficiencies
  • Assists in preparation for internal and external audits
  • Develop financial analysis and cost accounting skills
  • Responsible for execution and coordination of physical inventory
  • Performance Management for any direct reports
  • Oversees payroll and AP functions
• Performs other job-related duties as required or assigned

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree
• Solid understanding of accounting concepts and GAAP
• Proven track record of working in a team environment with a variety of departments
• Experience working with an ERP system
• Three (3) years Plant Manufacturing experience

Preferred Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
• Packaging industry experience
• IBMi AS400 experience
