This position is per diem (generally around 20 hours per week but could be more or less depending on business needs). Ability to cover all shifts - 1st, 2nd, and 3rd shift - depending on business needs, is a must. Our office is located at 440 Hopkinsville St., Greenville KY 42345.

We offer 4 weeks of on-the-job training.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the registration of all patients' accessing services with emphasis on patient access/satisfaction, insurance/demographic verification and accuracy, scheduling, and point of service collection, while maintaining confidentiality, professionalism and ethics        

Duties include but not limited to:

  • Greet patients
  • Coordinate patient flow to reduce wait times
  • Assist patients with intake processes
  • Collect co-payments, co-insurance and deductibles
  • Process walk-in patients and visitors
  • Confirms eligibility and verifies insurance benefits
  • Ensures all necessary demographic and billing information is obtained for patients and entered in the computer system timely and accurately
  • May schedule appointment times using computerized scheduling programs
  • Explains financial responsibilities for services received, payment options, and collection procedures to patients and/or parties responsible for payment
  • Counsels patients regarding insurance benefits and recommends alternative sources of payment and/or financial assistance when appropriate
  • Accepts payments and co-pays
  • Communicates effectively with insurance companies, external agencies, patients, physicians, and team members

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma / GED (or higher)
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Ability to work per diem (generally around 20 hours a week) with the flexibility to cover all shifts as needed - 1st, 2nd, 3rd - as business needs determine

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 1+ years of related work experience, including data entry
  • 1+ years of experience in Customer Service
  • Working knowledge of medical office procedures and medical terminology
