Our client, a leader in industrial automation, is seeking an Automation Design Engineer to join their team. As an Automation Design Engineer, you will be part of the engineering department supporting various project teams. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, excellent time management abilities, and a proactive approach to problem-solving, which will align successfully in the organization.

Job Title: Automation Design Engineer

Location: Parsippany, New Jersey

Pay Range: $80,000 - $120,000

What's the Job?

  • Collaborate closely with upper management, customers, sales teams, Project Engineers, and vendors to evaluate customer requirements and identify solutions for machine upgrades and drive/PLC projects.
  • Review customer RFPs, engineering drawings, site videos, and electrical schematics to ensure designs meet project specifications.
  • Estimate work hours, materials, travel, and logistics to meet customer scope of work while selecting appropriate components and developing pre-engineered BOMs.
  • Create written proposals backed by costing spreadsheets for jobs and projects.
  • Prepare for and attend project kick-off meetings to review scope and requirements with project engineers.

What's Needed?

  • BSEE, BSME, Mechatronics degree or strong employment experience in the field.
  • Superior oral/written communication skills.
  • Ability to read electrical drawings/single line diagrams/project specifications.
  • Proficiency with MS Windows/Word/Excel/PowerPoint.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills to handle multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
