Asset Integrity Engineer
The Asset Integrity Engineer is responsible for ensuring the reliability, safety, and integrity of critical assets and infrastructure across the facility. They are responsible and accountable for the asset integrity and management of the integrity plan. This role involves developing, implementing and managing asset integrity and reliability programs, conducting inspections and risk assessments, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations, industry standards, and organizational policies. The ideal candidate will have expertise in mechanical integrity, inspection techniques, and maintenance best practices, and will play a key role in minimizing risks and optimizing asset performance. The Asset integrity Engineer reports to Maintenance Manager.Â
RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
SHE Stewardship
Maintain safety as the highest priority and abide by all safety policies and procedures.
Understand and promote the “20 Principles of Safety”, assuring that personnel are aware of safe working practices and promote the safety concepts of “Coaching for Safety” and “Stop Work”.
Promote safety and safe actions through communication such as discussing safety with employees/contractors before job task, during meetings, and as opportunities arise to promote safety to the fullest extent possible.
Ensure compliance with all safety and environmental regulatory requirements and strive to meet internal SHE objectives.
Ensure completion of own and direct subordinate training requirements as outlined in the annual training schedule.
Work Duties
Maintain acceptable levels of certifications for skilled technicians in assigned area.
Plan and work with production for shut-down events. Develop, implement, and maintain an Asset Integrity Management System (AIMS) to ensure the safe and efficient operation of critical assets.
Conduct regular audits and reviews of asset integrity programs to identify gaps and implement improvements.
Create and maintain a comprehensive inventory of plant assets, including risk ranking and criticality assessments.
Plan and oversee inspection activities for critical equipment, including pressure vessels, piping, tanks, heat exchangers, and rotating equipment, in line with applicable codes and standards (e.g., API 510, API 570, API 653, ASME).
Implement and manage condition monitoring techniques such as ultrasonic testing (UT), radiographic testing (RT), thermography, and vibration analysis.
Develop and update inspection plans and schedules based on risk-based inspection (RBI) methodologies.
Conduct risk assessments to identify potential equipment failures and their consequences, using tools like FMEA (Failure Mode and Effects Analysis) and RCA (Root Cause Analysis).
Investigate equipment failures and develop corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
Collaborate with operations and maintenance teams to mitigate risks and improve asset performance.
Work with maintenance and reliability teams to ensure that preventive and predictive maintenance strategies align with asset integrity goals.
Provide technical expertise to resolve complex maintenance issues and optimize asset performance.
Recommend upgrades, repairs, or replacements to improve the reliability and integrity of aging or underperforming assets.
Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies related to asset integrity.
Responsible for the overall asset integrity program, including maintaining accurate records of inspections, maintenance, repairs, and modifications in a centralized database or CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System).
Track KPIs, generate reports and presentations on asset health and integrity for internal and external stakeholders.
Identify and implement innovative solutions to enhance asset integrity and reliability.
Stay updated on new technologies, tools, and best practices in asset integrity management.
Train and mentor team members on asset integrity processes and procedures.
SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED
Education/Experience
BS in relevant Engineering field required.
Mechanical integrity experience in a refining/petrochemical plant
API 510, 570, 653 and CWI certifications required.
Certification in relevant areas such as API 510/570/653, CWI, ASME BPVC, or CMRP (Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional).
Experience working in a PSM regulated chemical manufacturing environment
Direct experience in management of asset integrity and reliability
Strong experience with CMMS Software.
Strong knowledge of risk assessment methodologies and Degradation Mechanisms.
The incumbent must be technically sound, result-oriented, decisive, and have good human relation skills.

The use of the following software could be required: Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Power Point, Outlook), Skype, Visio, Adobe (PDF), Share Point, SAP, Microsoft Project.
The use of the following site systems could be required: Honeywell Distributive Control System, Uniformance Historian, COA Database, Training Mine, Alfresco Document Management, Esker, PSAim
Ability to use: General small hand tools (wrenches, screwdrivers, pliers, etc.) step ladder, extension ladder.
