Job Overview

Our Santaland experience is an interactive entertainment for customers on their way to see Santa Claus. The support team consists of Elves, Costumes, Supervisors, Mrs. Claus, & Santa Claus. Our goal is to help spread cheer and goodwill among all our Santaland guests.

Essential Functions

 

We have 3 types of Support Potions

Santaland Elf:

  • Always be in Elf or Villager costume (provided by Macy’s)
  • Direct and expedite guest visits with Santa or to the Village/Light Show experience
  • Take photos (on proprietary equipment)
  • Assist with crowd control while maintaining a cheerful disposition

· Assist with taking reservations and checking in guests with reservations for the holiday exhibit

· Communicate issues within the exhibit to management and security

Wigs & Costume:

· Assigning and fitting each staff member with a costume and/or wig and/or beard set prior to the start of the season.

· Maintaining costumes, wigs and inventories throughout the operational season.

· Preparing costumes, wigs and costuming areas for opening and closing/storage.

· COSTUME LEADS are responsible for managing the laundry and the relationship with the laundry vendor, plus tend to all costume repairs, supply replenishment and distribution needs.

· Excellent communication with daily staff and management team to maintain the standard costuming “look” for quality control purposes.

 

Santa Supervisor:

· Reporting to the Santaland Management team, Santa Supervisors are responsible for maintaining the Santa operations day to day

  • Manage the daily schedule (facilitating switches, breaks and lunch breaks)
  • Maintain Santa’s physical well-being and appearance while he is in the house
  • Work with the Santaland Managers to maintain a smooth and constant flow of traffic through Santaland
  • Assisting Managers and Branded Entertainment group with pre-season training of Santa

· A LEAD SANTA SUPERVISOR will also take responsibility for ensuring that all shifts are covered appropriately (facilitating shift changes and absence cover as necessary) and special events are staffed.

Qualifications and Competencies

• Practices open and continuous communication, values keeping others informed, effectively presenting information in a clear, concise manner.

• Excellent leadership, facilitation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work across functional lines and at many levels

• Ability to think creatively, strategically and technically

• Ability to work a flexible schedule based on department and Company needs

• Knowledge of MS Office computer programs are required
