The Opportunity

As a dedicated Bank Agile Product Owner Senior for Credit Card Servicing, you will work directly with the Bank agile team to prioritize work to derive business outcomes while delivering on Bank agile team commitments and ensuring the voice of the customer is strongly represented.

In this role, you are accountable for making decisions and prioritizing the Bank agile team backlog to drive business outcomes in service to the business strategy. You will set product value stream direction and ensure it is aligned with key collaborators across the organization. As Product owner, you support an agile team culture routed in transparency and learning, for seeking opportunities for testing & learning, and continuous improvement to processes and quality standards.

We offer a flexible work environment that requires an individual to be in the office 4 days per week. This position can be based in one of the following locations: San Antonio, TX, Plano, TX, Phoenix, AZ, Colorado Springs, CO, Charlotte, NC, or Tampa, FL. Relocation assistance is not available for this position.

This position can work remotely in the continental U.S. with occasional business travel.

What you'll do:

  • Collaborate with partners to understand business needs and optimally present and align the business vision and strategy to key customers and Bank agile team members, while ensuring delivery of quality product and member experience solutions.
  • Partner with the Team-of-Teams Lead to assist in clarifying and driving alignment on business strategy, goals, and objectives. Translate this understanding into a clear vision for the Bank agile team to advise the creation and prioritization of the agile team’s backlog of work.
  • Anticipate and tackle meaningful issues using a data-driven approach to decision making including allocating of funds, to deliver the agile team objectives and key results that drive Bank product success.
  • Proactively seek customer feedback to learn and better understand their needs and requirements to ensure end user value is delivered to the marketplace.
  • Own the Bank agile team backlog (grooming, prioritization, and refinement) including work with the agile team to build user stories, estimate story size and complexity.
  • Optimizes the flow of value through the multi-Bank Agile environment and progress toward objectives, goals, and commitments, while removing impediments, resolving issues, and handling risks and issues.
  • Take a strategic view and think proactively about the right way to meet objectives.
  • Act in service of the Bank agile team's needs and goals; offer feedback on work-in-progress, clarifies requirements, anticipates, and removes roadblocks or impediments that may prevent the agile team from progressing on objectives and answers questions.
  • Uncover for opportunities and make recommendations to leadership and the agile to continuously improve processes.
  • May lead functional Bank agile teams or projects with moderate resource requirements, risk, and/or complexity.
  • Ensure risks associated with business activities are efficiently identified, measured, supervised, and controlled in accordance with risk and compliance policies and procedures.

What you have:

  • Bachelor’s degree; OR 4 years of related experience (in addition to the minimum years of experience required) may be substituted in lieu of degree.
  • 6 years of experience in improving processes, project delivery, business requirements analysis or directly related experience to supported business operations product lines.
  • Advanced experience in analyzing business requirements, process flows and use cases to uncover opportunities to streamline business processes in accordance with risk management framework and regulatory requirements.
  • Knowledge of multiple technical software delivery methodologies (i.e., Agile, Waterfall, SAFe).
  • Advanced knowledge and proven use of Process Engineering methodologies.
  • Proven understanding of applicable banking, regulatory, compliance policies including applicable laws, rules, and regulations.
  • Ability to communicate difficult concepts and influence others to embrace a different point of view.

Compensation range: The salary range for this position is: $103,450 - $186,210.

Compensation: USAA has an effective process for assessing market data and establishing ranges to ensure we remain competitive. You are paid within the salary range based on your experience and market data of the position. The actual salary for this role may vary by location.

 

Employees may be eligible for pay incentives based on overall corporate and individual performance and at the discretion of the USAA Board of Directors.
