Part-Time Operating Room (OR) RN

$2,500 Sign on Bonus Available

Location: Raleigh Neurosurgical and Spine, North Hills District, Raleigh, NC

Raleigh Neurosurgical and Spine is a small, brand new outpatient ambulatory surgery center located next to the bustling North Hills district. We specialize in Spine and Pain procedures, including METRX microdiscectomy, laminectomy, robotic fusions, and spinal cord stimulators. With one operating room and two procedure rooms, we are dedicated to providing top-quality care in a comfortable and efficient setting. Our strong relationships with partner physicians enable us to deliver exceptional patient outcomes.

Job Description: We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Part-Time Operating Room (OR) Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team. This position requires working on Tuesdays and most likely one other day (Wednesday or Thursday) each week. Typical hours are from 6 am - 5 pm, although this may vary. As we grow, there may be opportunities to transition to a Full-Time position and to increase responsibilities or develop skills in other departments if desired.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct nursing care to patients undergoing surgical procedures in the OR.
  • Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure a safe and effective surgical environment.
  • Assist in the preparation and maintenance of the operating room, including sterilization and setting up instruments and equipment.
  • Monitor patients before, during, and after surgery, ensuring their safety and well-being.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by the physician.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed patient records.
  • Educate patients and their families about surgical procedures and post-operative care.

Required Skills:
  • Current RN license in the state of North Carolina.
  • Minimum of 2 years of OR nursing experience, preferably in an outpatient or ambulatory surgery setting.
  • BLS and ACLS certification required.
  • Neurosurgical experience strongly preferred. 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Commitment to patient safety and high-quality care.
