Baxter’s Infusion Systems (infusion pumps, sets and fluid management systems) and Patient Monitoring help clinicians safely deliver medications deliver medications and monitor patients at the bedside. Infusion pumps are used to deliver medication and solutions through various routes (e.g. intravenous and epidural) for therapeutic and diagnostic purposes. We’re working to enable clinicians to provide their best care to patients and safely deliver medications at the bedside. For example, we are helping elevate patient protection from the pharmacy to the bedside through our infusion pump. We are also focused on helping clinicians reduce the potential for touch contamination during setup and change of IV administration sets with single set technology for both pump and gravity medication delivery. We're seeking a leader to drive the development of cutting-edge software solutions for our Novum IQ Infusion Platform. As a Manager, Systems Software Engineering, you'll lead a team of 10 systems & software engineers in Raleigh, NC, and be responsible for delivering software level R&D deliverables that transform the medical devices and therapies business segment. This role is based out of our Raleigh, NC location with relocation benefits available. What you'll be doing: Foster a Culture of Innovation: Recruit, mentor, and lead a multi-disciplinary engineering team, driving a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Develop and Optimize Embedded and Digital Products: Oversee the development and optimization of software and systems for our infusion pump platform, ensuring compliance with stringent regulatory and safety standards for medical devices. Drive Agile Development: Champion an Agile development culture within the team, advocating for the benefits of Agile methodologies and promoting the adoption and integration of Agile practices across the software engineering team. Lead Software Requirements and Risk Management: Develop and manage software requirements and risk management for software projects, ensuring that software and systems meet clinical and user needs. Represent the Team: Represent the systems software engineering team in meetings, presentations, and other communications with internal and external stakeholders. Identify and Mitigate Technical Risks: Identify and mitigate technical risks, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and driving excellence in software development. Coach, Mentor, and Motivate: Effectively coach, mentor, and motivate team members to achieve outstanding performance, taking ownership of deliverables and ensuring timely, high-quality delivery. What you'll bring: Bachelor's Degree: In a relevant field, with 8+ years of related experience. Experience: Managing technical teams in the development of medical device software, with a demonstrated expertise in systems engineering for the development of medical devices. Technical Expertise: Experience working with development tools for requirements management, issue management tracking, and a solid technical understanding of software engineering principles (e.g., SDLC, IEC Agile). Innovative Problem-Solving: Capable of analyzing and solving complex problems through innovative thought and experience, as well as project management tools. Strong Communication Skills: Ability to build and sustain relationships with various stakeholders, handle competing priorities, and maintain high energy and drive team engagement.
