SUMMARY
Operates an adjustable band saw to perform skilled cutting operations; sawing, cross cutting of metal stock.

- Selects sawing operations according to type of cut specified on work order and sets up machine for cut
- Change blades on saws
- Make measurements and mount billet stock amount on saw using crane, or other material handling equipment
- Turns hand wheel or crank to tip machine table to specified angle or to raise table according to specified depth of cut
- Positions guides on machine table according to specifications of cut, and turns knobs to set guides or bolts guides in place
- Starts machine, places metal on table against guides, and pushes stock against saw
- Measures cut stock with pi-tape, ruler, caliper, or square, or scale, to verify dimensions against specifications
- Ability to move parts on and off pallets
- Removes cut stock from machine and maintains production count
- Cleans and maintains saw
- Must have understanding and knowledge of company procedures and work instructions
- Maintains a safe and organized workstation and follows all company policy, safety and procedures

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or equivalent GED. Minimum three months experience.
This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. person status.
Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Ability to operate a forklift, crane, and other powered industrial equipment.
