Job Purpose

  • Coordinates and executes new model development project activity across R&D, manufacturing, purchasing, and quality in achieving the new model development schedule, development cost, and resource targets which are critical to the success of new model launch.

Key Accountabilities

  • Work with diverse functional departments, project teams, staff and management to influence and set direction as well as gain consensus on a full range of project management functions relevant to assigned development projects, departmental, and organizational needs. Manage and responsible for multiple auto development projects of varying size, scope and complexity as assigned. Maintains the role of project management liaison with internal design teams, development project staff/management and SEDBQ, providing administrative resources, cost management, budget administration and project development/resolution support as needed. Plan, coordinate, execute, and maintain the Prototype Vehicle Plan (PVP) for all prototype/new model builds to include timing and vehicle specifications. May coordinate/oversee the work of contract staff that provides project coordination support. Work assignments are performed within defined latitude for independent judgment, problem solving and decision making as well as defined parameters for accuracy, quality, efficiency and compliance with schedules and applicable policies, NM standards, and regulations.
  • Lead the R&D, Production, Quality and Purchasing Project Teams in ensuring the team is aligned on the day-to-day operations, collect data, provide sound analysis and apply business knowledge to promote solutions to achieve team target requirements.
  • Utilize schedules and New Model standards to influence and execute the setting of clear milestones, prioritizing activity and ensuring resource requirements are in place.
  • Lead the management of problem item documentation, responsibility, and closure in the successful achievement of project targets.
  • Develop and maintain strong communication to ensure information sharing within SEDBQ New Model Teams.
  • Direct and Prepare activity to support compliance of New Model Evaluations
    - Establish and manage the detail schedule to support achievement of New Model evaluation requirements.
    - Apply New Model requirements and standards in setting evaluation conditions, providing analysis and addressing identified gaps.
    - Create and present information to executives in alignment with New Model reporting guidelines.

Workstyle

Qualifications, Experience, and Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or equivalent work experience.
