Position Summary:

An Associate Auditor is an integral member of Penske’s Internal Audit Department. Entry level candidates in this growth oriented position will focus on learning basic internal audit concepts and developing a functional audit skillset. They will use learned knowledge and skills to effectively assist management and staff in carrying out PTL and PL audits, reviews, special projects and fraud investigations.

Major Responsibilities:

• Applies basic knowledge of accounting principles and audit standards to audit initiatives.

• Uses basic understanding of financial accounting implications and uses good problem solving skills to analyze data.

• Carries out audit initiatives with supervision.

• Prepares working papers in accordance with Departmental standards.

• Contributes to evaluation of audit findings and related recommendations to improve internal controls.

• Contributes to discussions with management to report out on audit reports.

• Completes projects with a good degree of accuracy, achieving audit scope and objectives.

• Develops a desire to improve professional competency by keeping up to date on current trends and changes in the accounting and auditing professions.

• Arranges work schedule as necessary to accomplish project tollgates.

• Works well in a team setting and independently.

• Sustains good working relationship with the co-sourced GenPact team.

• Effectively uses technology tools and resources to perform individual job requirements and to improve productivity. Examples include ACL, AS400 Query, Access DB, Support Central, Savvion, etc.

• Other projects and tasks as assigned by supervisor

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Finance / Accounting required.

• 0 - 2+ years financial auditing experience preferred

• Strong analytical and communication skills, and organizational skills required.

• Basic understanding of Accounting Principle theory (GAAP) required.

• Proficiency in the use of Internet, Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint required. Microsoft Access experience a plus.

• Works well in a team setting and independently.

• Good communication (verbal and written) skills.

• Effective organization skills; ability to multi-task.

• Strong desire to learn and grow with the Company.

• Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job

• Overnight travel is required

• Willingness to travel as required, work the required schedule, work at the specific location required, complete Penske employment application, submit to a background investigation (to include past employment, education, and criminal history) and drug screening are required.
