Title: Compliance and Ethics Specialist

Remote/Onsite/Hybrid: REMOTE

Hub locations: Atlanta, GA; Columbus, OH; Dallas, TX; Richmond, VA

Designs, develops, implements and promotes awareness of the organization's business ethics policies. Monitors the organization's standards of conduct and ethical relationships with customers, contractors, suppliers, employees and the communities in which business is conducted. Investigates allegations of unethical activity and develops safeguards to eliminate future breaches of the organization's ethics policies.  Acts as a key contributor in a more complex/critical environment. This is a senior career position who exhibits the capability to provide professional guidance to functional work teams and to collaborate and report issues or concerns to multiple management levels within the organization.   Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience; may direct the work of others without formal management responsibilities; may utilize internal or external resources to accomplish goals.

Frequently contributes to the development of new theories and methods. Employs expertise as a generalist and/or specialist depending on the nature of the issue.

Develops resolutions to complex problems that require the frequent use of creativity. Uses judgement within broadly defined policies and practices. Anticipates change and directs or redirects efforts.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work is accomplished without considerable direction
  • Exerts significant latitude in determining objectives of assignment
  • Anticipates change and directs or redirects efforts
  • Carry out assessment of compliance policy and procedure and assist in updating or developing new policies to enhance operations or/and internal controls or to consider new areas
  • Carry out Compliance risk analysis for specified business functions and areas, discover areas of potential compliance risk and vulnerability, and create and implement solutions to eliminate the potential risks
  • Manage and direct compliance training and educational programs
  • Supervise compliance training in other laws such as the Federal Food, Drug and Cosmetic Act, Antikickback laws, Antitrust, HIPAA, Fraud, Waste and Abuse, and related state privacy and consumer protection laws to get employees informed on ethical and legal standards

KNOWLEDGE:

  • Frequently contributes to the development of new theories and methods
  • Employs expertise as a generalist and/or specialist depending on the nature of the issue
  • Leverage familiarity and understanding with the PhRMA Code, OIG-DHHS seven elements of an effective compliance program, and the AdvaMed Code
  • Carry out internal monitoring and auditing for policy compliance, discover preventive and corrective measures executed for audit findings made earlier, and coordinate internal and external corrective measures to be executed
  • Assist in bid preparation for government contracting to guidance and advise with existing and/or required policy related to government requirements for the applicable business
  • Be informed of current legislation and enforcement issues affecting the healthcare industry, particularly as to the impact on the pharmacy business and the supportive products the company provides, as well as compliance best practices
  • Work closely with others in related departments, including legal, HR, IT, Internal Audit and Quality Management, Regulatory, and Finance for effective investigation, resolution, reporting, and remediation of compliance issues

The pay range shown below is aligned with McKesson's pay philosophy, and pay will always be compliant with any applicable regulations. Our Base Pay Range for this position

$92,300 - $153,800
