Northrop Grumman Mission Systems (NGMS) is looking for you to join our team as a Principal Production Planner & Scheduler based out of Rolling Meadows, IL. The Principal Production Planner & Scheduler provides the required oversight to lead Production Control activity in support of multiple programs/product lines across multiple business units under the Navigation, Targeting, and Survivability (NT&S) Division in the Mission Systems Sector. As a key lead within Production Control, the Principal Production Planner and Scheduler will provide support for a high-performing team and will be responsible for executing, monitoring, and reporting on the progress of program performance as it relates to production schedules. Represents the organization across multiple business units as a primary point of contact providing solutions to address complex issues. Advises management of the status of work in progress, material availability, and potential production problems to ensure that personnel, equipment, materials, and services are provided as needed in the effort to meet business and organizational objectives. Responsibilities: Maintain accurate and current schedules for focus programs/product lines detailing the start and complete dates for work center activities. Plan, prepare, and disseminate program schedules across various levels to support management review while applying strong decision-making techniques to evaluate complex situations and identify optimal solutions. Routinely attend program status meetings, collect and analyze data, create presentations when necessary, and present findings/status to management. Use ERP system to initiate and maintain manufacturing orders for current and future work supporting programs across multiple business units. Provides advanced support and formal guidance to production controllers regarding production control practices, techniques, and standards for both production and sustainment programs. Serves as a Production Control lead and collaborates with Operations Program Management, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Quality to ensure production has all required inputs, readiness is maintained, and production starts are achieved. Leads special projects for the organization requiring data analysis and cross-functional collaboration to meet project objectives. Provide day-to-day support for individual Production Controllers and assist with training needs. Knowledge of MS Office tools, specifically Excel and Outlook. Demonstrated problem-solving ability, developing solutions to complex problems. Basic Qualifications: Principal Production Planner & Scheduler (A3) Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of manufacturing or planning work experience, or master’s degree and 3 years of manufacturing or planning experience. Note: An additional 4 years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree. Experience supporting moderate to complex manufacturing programs, contributing to team deliverables, and assisting with inter-department on-job training. Experience with advanced production scheduling processes and principles. Experience effectively working on an Integrated Product Team (IPT). Experience using advanced Material Requirement Planning (MRP) concepts to plan, execute, and maintain schedules. Active DoD Secret security clearance, or the ability to obtain one within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business needs. U.S. Citizen
