Northrop Grumman’s Chief Information Office is seeking a well-qualified Principal Network Engineer to join its dynamic team of technical professionals in Rolling Meadows, IL. Please note that the selected candidate will be required to work on-site, full-time, at our Rolling Meadows, IL campus, and that this is not a remote work opportunity. Roles and responsibilities will include but not be limited to the following: Maintain smooth operation of LAN/WAN/VPNs. Plan, design, configure, and install network hardware in support of customer requirements. Maintain technical expertise in all areas of networks and computer hardware and software interconnection and interfacing, such as routers, firewalls, switches, WAN accelerators, etc. Propose solutions to management to help ensure all communications requirements based on future needs and current usage are met, configuring such solutions to optimize cost savings. Prepare and ensure that appropriate network documentation exists, including operational instructions. Provide regular monitoring and network analysis regarding short- and long-range planning for in-house systems. Coordinate third-party maintenance for network equipment and assist with network design, to include selecting hardware and software packages. Lift equipment weighing up to 40 pounds.
