Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Flight Analysis Engineer, at the Staff Systems level. This position is located in Roy, UT and supports the Sentinel program.

What You’ll Get To Do:
The Flight Analysis Engineer is a member of the AVE Modeling and Simulation and Analysis (AVE MS&A) team responsible for AVE performance and flight assessment. This includes executing trajectory simulation tools, both in 3 and 6 degrees of freedom, and analyzing the results of those simulations. Trajectory simulations support, but are not limited to, payload to range, post boost vehicle maneuverability, weapon system effectiveness, accuracy, vehicle environment characterization, and flight test predictions. The Flight Analysis Engineer will have key responsibility in developing and maintaining the complex, program level 6DOF tool required to perform these vehicle assessments. This includes integrating lower level simulations, verification and validation, flight test analysis, etc.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) discipline with 12 years of related experience; 10 years with a Masters; 8 years with a PhD.
- Must have an active U.S. Government DoD Top Secret security clearance at time of application, current and within scope, with an ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) approval within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business need
- Strong C++ programming skills
- Experience with missile modeling and trajectory simulation
- Experience with 6DOF trajectory simulation tools
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Git
- Experience leading junior engineers to achieve technical objectives.
- Experience with mission level simulations (Red vs. Blue, e.g. ITASE, AFSIM, HLA Federations, etc.)
- Excellent technical writing skills
- Excellent communication and organizational skills

This position’s standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.   This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.

Salary Range: $142,500 - $213,700The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
