Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Principal Systems Engineer / Sr Principal Systems Engineer (RAM Systems Modeling Simulation). This position is located in Roy, UT and supports the Sentinel program.  This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.

What You’ll Get To Do:

The selected candidate will join a team modeling high level Reliability, Availability, Maintainability, Cost (RAM-C) processes across multiple campuses. This role will involve modifying or setting up centralized data stores across multiple classification levels. The team is seeking a candidate with experience combining siloed data streams or models into an integrated and centralized data store for common usage. Once setup, the role will transition into continuous development and improvement of product release train. Selected candidate will also have the opportunity to work in modeling optimal Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) strategy for a large missile system. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Development centralized data stores for team use at multiple classification environments
  • Scripting of data automation to data store (API development as needed)
  • Maintenance of continuous integration pipelines
  • Participate in optimization of product release train solution
  • Selected candidate must be able to support program tasks in a secure lab environment (on site) a for a minimum of 90% of their total work time

Basic Qualifications:

This requisition may be filled at either the Principal Engineer Systems level (T03) or Sr Principal Engineer Systems level (T04).

Principal Systems Engineer: Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and 5 years of experience with Bachelor's degree, 3 years of experience with Master's degree

Sr Principal Systems Engineer: Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and 8 Years of related experience; 6 Years with Masters; 4 Years with PhD (with 2 years of Systems Engineering experience)

Required for Both Levels:

  • Must be a US Citizen with an active DoD Secret Clearance, at time of application, current and within scope, with an investigation date within the last 6 years
  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) approval within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business need
  • 3 years of experience with large data management (Structured or unstructured database tools, developing metadata standards, data cleansing, version control)
  • 3 years of experience streamlining data processes
  • 3+ years of experience automating tool sets or developing Application Programming Interface (API)s for tool integration
  • Demonstrated knowledge of configuration management (CM) principles, concepts, practices, and standards, having 3+ years of experience
  • Demonstrated technical expertise in the areas of modeling, simulation, and analysis (MS&A) or Reliability, Availability, Maintainability, Cost (RAM-C), having 2+ years of experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Active Top Secret Clearance
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline
  • Experience with implementing configuration management in as enterprise-wide approach
  • Experience with scripting tools such as: SQL, AWS, or VBA
  • Experience with ReliaSoft Software integration
  • Experience with Agile Release Train (ART) or Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe)
  • Expert with the Atlassian Tool Suite

This position’s standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.

Salary Range: $95,300 - $142,900
Salary Range 2: $118,600 - $178,000
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
