Northrop Grumman is seeking a Command and Launch Integration and Test Design Manager 2. Ā  This position will be located in Roy, Utah and will support the Sentinel program.Ā

What Youā€™ll Get To Do:Ā 

Northrop Grumman Defense Systems has an opening for an experienced Manager of Test Engineering to join its team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Roy, Utah and will support the Sentinel program. Ā This Manager will be responsible for the Design and Analysis team under the Lab Operations and Development organization of the Integration and Test element of Command and Launch. This team is responsible for the design of the Command and Launch System Integration Lab (CSIL) as well as design of Special Test Equipment (STE) kits to support the integration and checkout of external sites including flight test facilities. This position requires a working knowledge of systems engineering, design engineering, and personnel management.

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Overseeing lab design engineering to ensure successful development of lab capabilities.

  • Managing lab design engineering activities from developing requirements through releasing drawing to procurement and build of lab equipment.

  • Managing design of STE necessary for system integration and checkout at deployed sites.

  • Managing cost and schedule considerations (as a Control Account Manager or Work Package Lead).

  • Becoming proficient in the Sentinel weapon system, especially the ground segment, to be able to make technical decisions about CSIL capabilities during the design process.

  • Serving as a functional homeroom Section Manager

This is a Section Manager position with the expected 80/20 split. Ā 80% of this manager's time will be executing the technical statement of work in the design, procurement, and build of the CSIL and STE. 20% of this manager's time will be as a functional manager of 5-15 engineers, supporting goal-setting, performance evaluations, skill development and career growth conversations, providing team leadership, engagement, etc.

This positionā€™s standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.Ā Ā 

Youā€™ll Bring These Qualifications:

  • 6 years of relevant experience with a Bachelors Degree; 4 years with a Masters

  • Must have an active U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance, current and within scope, with an ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) approval within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business need.

  • At least one year leading a project and/or driving performance against schedule.

  • At least one year of experience in testing environments or with test execution efforts.

  • Experience with Mentor Capital, Siemens NX, or another Computer-Aided Design (CAD) tool

These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:

  • US Citizenship with an Active Top-Secret Clearance or higher (awarded within the past 6 years) with the ability to receive a Special Access Program (SAP) certification.

  • Have active Sentinel SAP

  • Functional manager, program manager, IPT lead, and/or other significant leadership role that included people and technical leadership, as well as cost and schedule responsibilities.

  • Experience in lab and/or test equipment design, integration, and build-up.

  • Experience with a drawing creation and release processes.

Salary Range: $119,300 - $178,900
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
