Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Staff Systems Engineer. This position is located in Roy, UT and supports the Sentinel program.  This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.

What You’ll Get To Do:

Lead a small team of engineers to define and implement dynamic technical assessment criteria and metrics for the Sentinel program throughout the Engineering & Manufacturing Development phase of the system life cycle.

Specific duties to include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Lead collaboration with other engineering teams to plan and execute measures and metrics definition, data architectures, pipelines, and integration frameworks for calculating and reporting metrics, definition and refinement of metrics use cases, and creation of data visualizations to serve data consumers for these use cases
  • Engage with senior technical and programmatic leadership within Northrop Grumman's Strategic Deterrent Systems Division and United States Air Force customer counterparts
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify, predict, plan, and track mitigation for issues in the system's technical baseline and program execution performance
  • Participate in system level top-down reviews and briefings of engineering trends and status in preparation for major program milestone events
  • Help refine systems engineering processes, procedures, and governance for an expansive system of systems

You’ll Bring These Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline with 12 years of experience; 10 years with Master’s Degree; 7 years of experience with a PhD.
  • Must be a US Citizen with an active U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance, at time of application, with an investigation completed within the last 6 years
  • Must have Special Access Program (SAP) approval and maintain it as determined by the company to meet its business needs
  • Must be eligible to obtain additional Enhanced Security Clearances within a reasonable amount of time as determined by the company to meet its business needs.
  • Experience with technical assessment of engineering projects
  • Technical experience on large DoD Acquisition programs

These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:

  • Active DoD Top Secret Clearance or higher with an investigation date within the last 6 years
  • Experience leading and directing technical teams
  • Comfortable synthesizing inputs from many stakeholders to plan and prioritize work with limited managerial oversight
  • Experience with management, interpretation, and data visualization of large datasets
  • Demonstrated experience in technical project planning and execution to cost and schedule
  • Experience on programs using model-based systems engineering (MBSE) methodologies and integrated digital tools
  • Experience with data analytics and data visualization

This position’s standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.

Salary Range: $142,500 - $213,700
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
