Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Sr. Principal Industrial Engineer (T04 level). This position will be located in Roy, UT and will support the Sentinel program, on the Production Operations Team. What You’ll Get To Do: This role will support production activities for the Air Vehicle Equipment (AVE) Team. As the Sr. Principal Industrial Engineer, you will be expected to be the Industrial Engineering Lead and provide project guidance to other IEs on your team. The preferred candidate will be an individual with a bias for action, strategic thinking, data analysis, problem-solving, exceptional customer focus, communications, and a sound foundation in Industrial Engineering concepts, with an expertise in scheduling, manpower, and facility layouts. General skills and expectations within the role include: Strong foundation in Industrial Engineering fundamentals (Production Intervals, Cycle Times, Forecasting, Manufacturing Experience, Takt Time, Continuous Improvement) Understand principles of capacity (efficiencies, standards, constraints, etc.) Knowledge of manufacturing flows and how they interface with shop floor and Global Supply Chain to perform analysis and projections Experience conducting Manufacturing Readiness Assessments (MRAs) with Suppliers Experience with cost management (Earned Value, Milestone payments) Develop cost/risk benefit summaries and recommendations for leadership Experience with Project Management and manufacturing schedules Ability to create detailed manufacturing waterfall schedules with setbacks to independent demands Utilize process improvement methodology (e.g., value stream mapping, employee engagement techniques, flow reduction, etc.) Understand labor standard development and work measurement Experience creating factory and facility layouts Engage and collaborate with programs and functional organizations (from individual contributors to executive staff) to obtain, understand, and interpret manufacturing facilitation and scheduling requirements Document, track and monitor problems to ensure a timely resolution Utilize your strong organizational, planning and decision-making skills and the ability to work as a team member and with other members from different technical backgrounds Ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision and coordinate with teams at different site locations Create and present technical briefings for upper management and technical leadership.
