Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking SDE Staff Operations Lead – 12926. This position will be located in Roy, Utah or Huntsville, Alabama and will support the Sentinel program.

What you will get to do, specific duties to include, but are not limited to the following:

• Develop, implement, and manage operational processes and systems to ensure efficiency, customer satisfaction and stability of the Software Development Environment (SDE)

• Incident Management and Root Cause Analysis

• Monitor and evaluate operational performance and recommend improvements

• Provide guidance and support to operations personnel

• Manage, track, and monitor software licenses renewals, utilization and SSL certifications

• Initiate, manage, and track the procurement of hardware and software for the SDE

• Maintain constant communication with managers, staff, and vendors to ensure proper operations of the team

• Develop CI/CD pipelines

• Implement Infrastructure as Code

• Automate deployments

• Support hybrid cloud deployments

• Serve as SDE Operations Product Owner, responsible for:

o Managing scope and schedule of the work, sprint allocation and roadmap

o Establishes and communicates product vision

o Prioritizes product backlog

o Defines acceptance criteria in product backlog

o Accepts or rejects work products from the team based on acceptance criteria and definition of done

• Foster a working environment which reinforces and drives accountability to fundamental Northrop Grumman Values focused on integrity, quality, shared success, and innovation.

• Partner with peers and management to assure a balanced and efficient assignment of resources to support and achieve key mission priorities.

• Coach, support, train, and motivate team members to ensure a high level of performance.

• Perform software engineering technical tasks as defined by the program support team.

This position’s standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.  This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.

Job Qualifications: 

You’ll Bring These Qualifications:

  • 14 Years with Bachelors in relevant field of study; 12 Years with Masters; 09 Years with PhD or 04 additional years in lieu of a degree.
  • Active DoD Secret clearance with a reinvestigation date occurring in the last 6 years.
  • U.S. Citizen and Ability to obtain Special Program Access (SAP).
  • IAT Level II certification (e.g. Security + CE) or ability to obtain within 6 months.
  • Experience with Jira/Confluence in an Agile environment.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft and Linux Red Hat operating system.
  • Familiarity with scripting languages (i.e. PERL, Python, Bash, YAML).
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills.
  • Strong critical thinking and logical reasoning skills with the ability to solve issues.
  • Familiarity with DevSecOps, continuous integration, and continuous delivery
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, Extreme Programming), Scaled Agile Framework – SAFe for Lean Enterprises
  • Strong critical thinking and logical reasoning skills with the ability to solve issues and predict potential programmatic and technical risks.
  • Operates independently with limited to no supervision, and the ability to establish a solid working relationship with technical staff, peers, and customers.
  • Able to assimilate information from multiple sources, create coherent plans and then execute those plans.

Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:

  • Experience with working in a fast pace, agile environment with the ability to work on cross-functional Scrum team focused on quality and capability delivery.
  • Experience with scripting languages (i.e. PERL, Python, Bash, YAML).
  • Experience with DevSecOps, continuous integration, and continuous delivery.
Salary Range: $142,500 - $213,700
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
